I'll admit that I think some of the criss-crossy-strappy ones *look* cute. But they are so far from functional as to be absurd.

If you swim often, the spandex gets destroyed, even if you take care of them. Think of a bra...after somany wearings and washings, it gives out.

These bathing suits will look terrific with my fat hanging out of them. LOL and my muffin top belly. Are they for real? What about those of us who are full figured??? First it was men's rompers now these. LMFAO!

Not to mention that sometimes more coverage is desirable for practical reasons, not mere prudery. I'd love to find a long-sleeved top with full front and back coverage and a pair of ankle-length swim pants in my size right now, not for reasons of excessive modesty but because I'm thinking about going on a tropical snorkeling trip, and full body coverage offers more protection from jellyfish stings and coral scrapes and means less reef-damaging sunscreen is needed.

In other words, some people actually SWIM in their swimsuits!

I have a warm water wet suit. Works very well for just the reasons you mentioned. Plus there is not enough sunscreen on the planet to save your back from burning while snorkeling!

Hysterical!!! I loved the comment about the Target suit with the "slimming" support cross on the belly.

I see sports bras going this same way and think, I'm hot and sweaty and I'm going to strangle myself trying to get out of this stupid thing to take a shower!

Try Title 9 - so much more sensible!

If you are young, and have a youthful figure (which does not care about trendiness, because you look good in anything) the trends are just bs.
