But in the inspection of my skin he noticed a few brown spots on my face. They were slightly unsightly so I said yes, go ahead and get rid of them. Within a few minutes he was spraying liquid nitrogen on eight different spots on my face. He promised it would not cause any problems or leave me with any scars and my brown spots would be replaced with new skin. My brown spots would be gone!

So after the painful procedure I went home and looked at my face in the mirror. I had huge red blisters all over my face. I called the doctor and he said within a week the blisters would turn into scabs and within another ten days the scabs would fall off and show slightly pink skin. Then the pink skin would be replaced with great looking skin in a week or so.

A month has passed and my blisters are as red as ever and no scabs have formed. I look just terrible. My self confidence is gone and people are always asking me what has happened to me. Now my skin doctor says I may heal within a year. My self confidence was based on my looks to a degree and now I do everything I can to avoid the public and have cancelled all social activities. When I do go out in public people look at me strange or look at me briefly and then have a funny look.

What a nightmare.

Anyone hear have their age or dark spots frozen and want to tell me how they healed, if at all?
I think that this nitrogen spray is a piece of *sh*t* VS nitrogen applied with a cotton swab directly and precisely to a needed spot.
I think it's something they came up with recently, because this spray mixture is cheaper for them...
But you see the results yourself.

Well, mine was done by a double board certified dermatologist and everything he has done for me has been perfect. He sprayed mine, but it was expertly done, scabbed wthin days and in less than two weeks it was pretty much gone and healed. I have been very pleased. Can't speak for who did the OP.

I don't think that it's about being "certified dermatologist" - I suspect that people that have more sensitive skin don't tolerate this spray very well - it takes much longer to heal for much bigger area vs just tiny dot of liquid nitrogen applied directly to the spot.
So if you know that your skin is on a sensitive side, be aware of it when your doctor pulls out this spray, even if he/she insists that "it's perfectly fine and safe." It cuts them cost at your expense big time.

Second opinion - STAT! The wounds may have become infected, or the doctor may have not done the procedure properly. And this time, use a real dermatologist, not a quack.

What is a cosmetic surgeon? Is it the same as a plastic surgeon?

I had 10 spots frozen on my hands a couple of months ago. They've almost all healed. My dermatologist said it would take two weeks. Not even close.

There is no "procedure" - it's a spray can and really ANYONE can use it. So the only way he could do it "improperly" is to not to aim it correctly lol.
No, I think that the MANUFACTURER of this stuff needs to be sued, because they obviously don't put the warning on their cans that IT MIGHT LEAVE scars/discoloration for up to a year (and may be forever in some cases.)
But if they'd put such warning on their cans and doctors will be obligated to inform their patients about it, guess what will happen to manufacturer's $$$$$ profits?

Hopefully they told you to stay out of the sun during healing. use bandaids, hats, sunscreen. I think it can permanently change the skin tone of healing skin? That's what I was told after laser hair removal anyway. And after healing of course you dont want more.

I had a precancerous spot removed from my chest. It scabbed and healed over but now I am developing what I think is a keloid. Fortunately it's very small and goes well with my thyroidectomy scar...

Only doctor that touches my face is a board certified facial and reconstructive plastic surgeon.

Hopefully a facelift-necklift after I retire. Resurfacing is a possibility.

I would have never casually let anyone do this to me. Maybe do one tiny spot and see how it heals....

^^^ you are smart.

My husband used to go to this clown derm who carried this can of spray around in a holster. He couldn't wait to use it on someone. Lots of overspray. Hubs finally quit going to him.

New derm said they shouldn't be using that. Qtip right on the spot, no overspray. Thank God I knew this before I anything done.
