The company gets to set the rules for their employees. It may not have been a previous issue because men simply didn't wear makeup. Society is changing. Still that look would not be tolerated in many industries and the employer would lose business based on what the customer wants. The employee can accept his employer's wishes or move on.

Personally I don't want to see a man wearing obvious makeup and don't think an employee should eagerly go online to complain about his employer's rules. However - here in the USA (and that's the UK) - it's illegal to have a dress code that allows one sex to do something while forbidding the opposite sex from doing the equivalent. Which I'm sure is often disregarded in practice, but nevertheless I like the principle of it.
Who cares if people don't want to see it? if a man chooses to wear makeup, he has that right. If an employer has a problem with it, its discrimination plain and simple. Even Trump wears makeup!!

Exactly! Maybe I don't wanna see fat people but no one should be fired for that or told they must slim down.
