I'm talking sturdy leather flip flops, not the flimsy Old Navy ones.

Is it more of a young man's style? Or can it be acceptable for a guy over 35 to wear them with khaki shorts as long as his feet are presentable and taken care of?

I think when he gets old enough that he shuffles and trips easily. Flop flops are not the most secure footing.

Nothing to do with age, but if a man wants to wear flop flops, he really should keep his toenails maintained.

That is true although I've been told by a number of women that the more secure sandals with the backstrap look "old mannish".

Flip Flops do not come with an age limit.

Who cares what a "number of women" tell you? Do you go around telling women that those tights that so many of them wear these days make them look fat? Wear what works for you.

On their 35th birthday, no sooner.

Why do people put ages on everything? Does he have clean and decent looking feet? If so who cares if he's 75.

I'm a Southern California guy (20's), and plan on wearing sandals/flip-flops for the rest of my life!

There's no age limit. When you start wearing white socks and sandals, you'll know that you are too old but you will no longer care.

My BIL has always done that, even when he was in his 20's.

Excellent! There's nothing wrong with that either. Comfort and self expression should always trump fashion marketing.
