It just depends on the person. Some can manage the short skirts and capris, some just are better off not to try. Heck, Im 50 and can say, without 'bragging' that I can wear both without bringing shocking stares my direction. But then my frame is kinda small and atheletic so maybe thats part of the reason? (Again, not ot brag). There are many who try to and no matter how hard they try, it just doesnt work. In fact, I have a pic I'll put up in the 'post your pic' section later today or tonight, and you tell me.

Does anyone know the reasoning yet behind the no women over 40 should wear capri pants??

Did anyone see the episode and did they give a reason? I'm so interested to hear this because it is just so ridiculous. It's like saying you shouldn't wear khaki pants or blue jeans past 40

I *think* part of the reason is they make you look shorter/wider instead of long and lean... at least that is what Stacy and Clinton say. They would rather see women wear knee length skirts and dresses instead... supposedly more flattering.

Eh, who cares what they say? It's going to be 78 degrees here today, so I've got my 51 year old self dressed in capris.

There are some industries that do not make money unless they can convince us to change constantly. Fashion is one of these.

I have seen women on Oprah who were saying some very valid things in the 'before' interviews. Usually the before picture is a woman in her 'hang around the house and maybe do a bit of gardening' clothing and the after is 'I have been hanging around the house relaxing all day and now I want to clean up and go out for fun' look.

Those shows, along with most shows interviewing showbiz people, are so phoney.

But when someone asks us to change and can really give no good reason for it, you just have to believe that their motivation is money - you losing yours and they, gaining it.
