I am a product of the 70's. To me, boot cut jeans should almost touch the floor, and at least cover the back of whatever shoes one is wearing. If one is wearing heels with these jeans, just a tiny bit of the heel should be allowed to show, if any.
But when I see these jeans advertised, the jeans are too short, and one sees the entire shoe. To me, it looks dumb. But I realize it's probably my age talking. I'm 60.
Just curious about everyone else...do you notice this? Do you see it like I do, or are you thinking "Get over it grandma. What you're describing is ridiculous."?
I had a look ar this website, and selected for boot cut jeans. It looks to me like these are a little shorter than what you are used to, There is another caregory I did not look at: mini boot cuts.

Styles do change.
Actually, according to your link, THOSE jeans come pretty close to what I'd want. To me, it looked like most of the styles covered most of the shoe.
But I've noticed a lot of other advertising has the flare hitting around the ankle...and it looks so dumb to me.
I feel the same way grandma. I also don't understand 3/4 length sleeves on jackets. I think the fad of looking like you've had a sudden growth spurt
Oh, I LOOOOOVE 3/4 length sleeves on jackets. I've had jackets with full length sleeves that I've taken to the tailor to have them shortened and tapered. They feel less boxy and mumsy to me.
Most of my long sleeves get pushed up anyway. Even tops and sweaters.

I'm short so when I order petite length they fit me as you describe.
Yes, I'm in your age range and I like them to cover a portion of the back of my shoe/heel. They just look better to me that way maybe because (I think) it elongates the leg.

I wish more women would wear these jeans, it is not a dated look at all (as long as the flare is not huge), and looks much better than the constant straight leg or worse, skinny jeans that are everywhere.
