I was wondering, I have noticed a lot men's pants sold today have stretch fabric. I noticed Old Navy was dominated by such jeans which I bought myself two pairs. I also have some casual pants with stretch fabric as well that I got last fall. I am getting some new shorts in Fairy Tale pink which claim to have natural stretch, which is simply some stretch without added spandex.
Is there any reason why such pants are very popular today?

The same reason they are popular for women: comfort!
Some men are wearing jogger pants. It can look great in the right guy. I ised to see a guy on the train a few days a week who managed to look really cool in. his athleisure every day. I was impressed, it is a hard look to pull off.
I saw Levi's 505 jeans for sale at Costco and went to buy a pair. When I picked them up, I could immediately feel that they were made of something other than regular Levi's denim. Inspection of the label revealed that they were some accursed stretch fabric. Back on the table. No sale.
Fortunately, normal denim Levi's haven't been totally eliminated and are for sale elsewhere.
