Clothing trends reflect the diversity of cultures in our country now. Which is fine, but it's annoying when the stores don't offer anything else. For example, for a working woman who wants basic, regular clothing for an office job. Can't wear cold shouldered tops, skinny pants, ruffles, etc. to a job. To me those styles are only good for partying or going out to dinner and clubs. How about a nice top that I can wear to work that has an attractive neckline (no cleavage showing) in a fabric that washes well (not tissue paper/cheap fabric) and that fits me well? How about a decent pair of work pants that I can wear with a heeled shoe--not skinny and not ankle length? Can't find these, except for exorbitant prices in specialty shops. Nor can I find a cotton spring jacket in decent colors (i.e. not pink or baby blue) that covers my butt and has lots of pockets. This is why so many department stores are closing up. Women don't shop for clothes anymore where the styles are just plain ridiculousness.

Thats not new at all, manic panic hair dye was popular back in the early 90s. Same with ripped jeans, I had numerous ripped up jeans when i was in middle school in the late 80s, running them thru the dryer was the most effective way to make them look 'better/worse'. LOL

I know for a fact what I wear to work every day TODAY (mostly just docker style pants), and a collared short sleeve short...if someone put me a time machine and sent me back to the late 90s..Im betting no one would look at me weird or strange!

Maybe its just me and this area? LOL

But if you took someone from the 90s and sent them back, they would stick out like a sore thumb.
