O I forgot to mention one last rule from Team Oprah: No vertical striped tops for women over 40. So I went to my closet and just pitched all tops with any vertical stripes. LOL! Just kidding. I really don't get this one. Now this is not my best look because my shoulders are broad, but I think lots of women who are tiny on top especially, look adorable in cute striped T's and sweaters. I have always heard this is an effective way to balance a more pear shaped figure. I did not watch the show , just heard the verdicts, but did any one hear why? I am just curious.I have enjoyed reading all the banter about short skirts and Capris. Happy Spring !

Don't agree on the no capris and I don't agree on this one either. I have always heard that horizontal striped clothing adds pounds...so I avoid them for the most part. But age related no vertical stripes...no.

I don't suppose they mentioned _why_ you're not supposed to wear vertical stripes over age 40? I would think that vertical stripes would be more flattering than horizontal, wouldn't they?

I notice Oprah's hair is long these days. So she probably won't be having any 'experts' on her show saying that long hair after 40 is a no-no now, hmm?

Veritcal?? I understand horizontal, but what's wrong w/ a crisp, cotton vertical striped button-down shirt?

Hmmm, I suppose vertical striped capris would be a double faux-paus. ROFL!

She'd better hope she doesn't run into my grandmother. She has quite a lot to say on the subject of both men's AND women's too-long hair, ESPECIALLY after a certain age!

I can just hear it now:

"Hello Oprah. Still wearing your hair long, I see."

Gram followed her snarky announcement with a prolonged sniff, and then muttered "it looks pretty" in a tone certain to convey the opposite point of view.
