What is considered effeminate or metro:
Manicured finger and toe nails (going for a mani and a pedi.)
Dyed hair.
Make up.
Removing callouses.
Fake tans.
polished work boots that have never seen dirt.
$50 a week shaves.
Poofy hair styles that take hours to arrange.
That tar stuff women put on their eyelashes (I always forget the name).
Obsessing over clothing brands and patterns.
Accessorizing.
Perfuming.
Skin softeners.
Effeminate clothing like skinny jeans or lacy blouses.

What is not considered feminine/metro:
Showering.
Shaving.
Washing your hands.
wearing clothing appropriate for the occasion or purpose.
Brushing your hair (once) if it is long enough to brush.
Deodorant.
clean teeth.

Well groomed does not mean obsessively groomed for manly men, only for girlymen.

Pretty sure the people who complain about this are the girlymen, who do nto want to be considered girlymen, but still want to be girlymen.

The good news is us old timers who believe there is a difference between men and women will all be dead before too long. Then Y'all can go back to getting your weekly mani/pedis with your bros. and dig out those skinny jeans and g-strings.
Hmm...yes...so in your book women are SUPPOSED TO waste their time, energy, money excessively grooming, wearing uncomfortable clothes, and painting their faces every morning. THAT is what MAKES them women, after all. And you MOCK any man that would partake in any of that silliness. Sure won't miss you when you're gone old timer.

I have a college aged daughter and a high school aged son. The expectations for women are still much higher than they are for guys. From getting highlights, professional manicures and getting your eyebrows done, these are almost considered the bare minimum for younger women.

Some guys look okay with beards. Some men look unkempt or sloppy with their beards, just my opinion.
