I am almost out of Cetaphil. I noticed a jar of shea butter in the personal care section of Whole Foods. On impulse I decided to try it for my old dry skin.

Here is my question: how do you get the solid stuff out of the jar and warmed up enough to apply on your skin?

And, is it worh doing? What I managed to soread on my skin felt slightly sticky at first. But I do like how my skin looks after I manage to apply it.

Surely there is a trick to using it?

Well here is my life lesson about shea butter. I too got skme at whole foods and found tge texture annoying. I made a body butter on my own with various combos of coconut, argan, olive and avocado. Diluting it a bit gives you a nice texture. There is an optimal ratio so it is not too liquidy, but all in all this is the easiest hack.

I find that the indie shea butter you get at the flea market or craft fair is easier to put on.

I just came back frim Ghana and wow, are we getting dissed on our shes butter. The texture is so much nicer and smoother. No tricks needed.

Anyway, you likely have some other oils at home, so you might as well do some mixing.

I used to buy pure 100% shea butter brand Peter Pharma from an online german pharmacy who sends to other EU countries. Pharmacy switched owners and they do not sell it anymore. Still looking for another supplier because it was very pleasant to use, not heavy not greasy, smooth application, for dry skin areas on mature skin.
