I'm planning on having a few sessions of microneedling done. I would ideally like to have them done soon, but I had a question - i frequent the beach in the summer. I do wear 45-50 SPF when I go to the beach but i would say i go 2-3x per month. i was wondering if i'm better off waiting until the fall to do the microneedling.
I guess my question is - does the sun impact any results from microneedling? obviously if i have it done on a certain week i wouldn't go to the beach THAT weekend immediately following, but the NEXT weekend i would maybe want to go. Does it matter? is it better to wait until the fall?
My second question is - does anyone know if you can go to work the next day after having the procedure done? the doctor said yes, but from looking at pictures online, it does NOT look like i would be able to go to work the next day without explaining to everyone what the hell happened lol.
The article says the results are temporary but I wouldn't go to the beach with microscopic cuts all over my face especially with the bacteria in the beaches these days (depending on where you live of course).
What I was told was that the UV rays in sunlight break down the collagen and so the beneficial effects don't last as long. Personally, if I was going to be at the beach a lot this summer, I'd wait until the fall to have it done.
Microneedling definitely works to stimulate collagen growth but the sun works well to reduce it. I'd wear a hat at the beach and as far as going to work after treatment you can with cover up/foundation make up. I'm a big advocate of it but not in the beauty business.
I'd be more concerned about the toxic ingredients in some sunblocks on open sores.
Getting it done in the spring shouldn't impact your summer beach trips.
Keep in mind it is only a temporary fix. Yes, I'd do it tis spring then again in the fall skipping the summer.
