I have another question for everybody. I keep reading how you should only wear heels with bell bottoms, and if not heels, then at least some pretty tall platforms. Personally, I like flats and am looking for a totally casual look. How do you all feel about flats with bell bottoms?
I think it would totally depend on the flats. A cute strappy pair of sandals, sure, round toed mary janes, maybe not.

I like wearing mine with Nike Lunarsandiators. Just enough heel to keep the hem off the ground.
These are the MOST comfy shoes I own. I have six pair in various colors. ONLY place you can find them these days is ebay. Crazy prices, retailed like $100.
Wow! You guys have really made my day! I fully expected at least half of the responses I got to be along the lines of, "What on earth are you thinking, woman? Act your age!" I'm going to buy me some bell-bottoms. (And no, there's no butterfly on the rear and they're not low-cut. )
I'm almost 60 but I know what you mean. I grew up during the worn bottom belle bottom era. When I was younger the women at the age we are now dressed so bland, grandma-ish. It makes it hard to determine what is appropriate for our age and they have such cute clothes today.
When you say bell bottom are you talking about the pants that are made of flowy fabric, wide enough bell that it's almost like a long dress. I like them but have not seen them in a print that I like.
By the way, you look great! I say you could wear them, I even think it could be your style as long as you keep accessories and top simple. I love the top you are wearing in your picture.
