I'm actually seeing the EA at $36 and the Clinique at $30. But it's tough to compare prices since they're different formulations. I'm not sure if one would last longer than the other.
Well.. I checked back on my order and found I actually paid less for it than I thought, $19 and free shipping (various sellers and prices) on Ebay (and yes, you do have to be careful on there and read the feedback). The Clinique I bought in the store for $30 (pretty much gonna be the same $ wherever). So they're pretty close but I guess it would depend on where you buy the EA.
Neither of them takes much so, thus far they look like I will get about the same amount of use out of each of them.
I use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion as a make up remover. I use a liberal amount tissue off then rinse with water. It rinses off well with warm water, doesn't leave a oily feel behind at all. I also use as a moisturizer when needed. Years ago I used Clinique oil makeup remover (which was recommended for oily skin) I think the Cetaphil works much better, and cost is much less of course. BTW, I have oily skin and Cetaphil works well with oily skin.
For eye make up mistakes I put a dab of Cetaphil on a q-tip to remove mistake.
I used to use Cetaphil, but a sample of Clinique's eye makeup remover ("Take the Day Off," I think) was included in one of those gift bags with purchase deals. I really liked how easily the eye makeup came off (and I only wear that and lipstick), but 26 bucks for 4.2 oz was not happening. Then I came upon Equate's dupe at Walmart, and decided to give it a try.
I'm glad I did. I love it. It's oil-free and biphasic, just like Clinique's. And I paid 3.97 for 5.5 oz.
Did you use Cetaphil cleanser or lotion? I use the moisturizing lotion as a cleansing cream, then rinse off, I don't use the actual cleansing lotion. The lotion dissolves makeup well. I don't use waterproof make-up though.

Well.. I don't recall for sure but I'd be willing to bet it was the cleanser. I tried a few others that were quite similar too... I think an Olay and Neutrogena, gentle face cleaners. They were ok but again, didn't really cut thru the eye makeup without me having to do a lot of rubbing.
But.. I do really like the Clinique and the Elizabeth Arden so for now, I'll continue to use those.
My dermatologist recommended this since my undereye skin is so sensitive. Nothing here but the polyester cloth that you wet. Best for mascara/eyeliner! It just grabs the makeup and holds it to the mitt. Then you rinse or soap the mitt clean.

What a deal.
I have been unable to find an Equate Cleansing Balm at our local Walmart as yet. I presume it's near the other face cleaners/serums (olay, neutrogena, etc) ?
