First, to all who posted, I put next to nothing on my skin other than soap and water.
Washing your face can often cause more harm than good. You need a face wash with a pH around 5-6 so your skin barrier is not damaged which can lead to the problems you are referring to. COSRX low pH good morning cleanser is an excellent and popular cleanser.
That's just your skin reacting to warm weather. If you're outside in the humidity, you're not going to have a matte complexion. Your pores will open and you might sweat. It doesn't mean your face is dirty or your skin is problematic.
Right- there is a reason that aestheticians use steam and you can buy facial steamers. They open up the pores and it actually allows more products/lotions/cleansers to get in. They also recommend that if you shower, you put lotion on within 3 minutes because the pores are more open. That is actually a GOOD thing. I think my skin generally looks better in humid weather... it looks less wrinkly and smoother. Less dead skin accumulates.
I've discovered using calamine lotion (pink stuff that's used to treat poison ivy and mosquito bites) as a mask and over night spot treat works really well. It contains clay and zinc. There is an expensive product that sold at Shephora that's basically the exact same stuff, I checked the ingredient list, same.
During my checking out the calamine lotion I discovered Milk of Magnesia is used as a mask by some for similar reasons, also as a primer for very oily skin if watered down and applied very lightly.
A good moisturizer for oily skin, Neutrogena hydro boost. I wish I could bathe in the stuff,it's heavenly.
