Proactive works pretty good on some types of acne but I ended up switching to my own neutral face wash (no active ingredients or particles), then applied an all over AHA. My skin didn't react well to the benzoyl peroxide treatment.

I love, love, love Paula's Choice 2% SA: SKIN PERFECTING 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant as a cleanser, but I switch between this and hemp seed oil because using the SA every night can be too much for my mature but oily skin, and occasionally I'll use Cetaphil Gentle if I only wore sunscreen that day. I never break out anymore with this combo. My teenage daughter also uses the SA every night and when she doesn't, she gets spots all around her nose and forehead. I highly recommend it for teens because it doesn't sting, and it's gentle. I can seem expensive, but a bottle lasts 3 months with nightly use. We're on the subscription plan.

Neutrogena products are basic, mild cleansers with several different
types ie for oily skin, for acne, etc.

My routine is way basic...but it works, and I get compliments on my mature skin fairly often.

I wash my face with gold dial soap. (anti bacterial)

Then I use an astringent (not a toner)

After that, I use Clean & clear moisturizer with salicylic acid

And then apply my make up.

I've tried a lot of different things over the years...but I always come back to this routine.

I think maybe you're making fun of me, but I put it out there because the routine is easy, with readily available items that don't cost a lot of money. LOL

I love all the Neutrogena products, my vanity is full of them. ! Facial cleanser (in pump bottle), love the Rainbath for shower and sometimes even suds up my hair with it, yummy scent; I buy the largest pump bottle you can at Sam's Club. Clear solid bars of bath soap. I wish they would make a bath powder, that would be nice. And an after shower spray that lasts for when I go out would be nice. Been using Neutrogena for years.

Do I collect great perfumes also? You bet.
