Your instincts are correct to wonder about that. It's not a granny. Those under garments made by Rhianna are a variation styled after the original silk and lace French Knickers and matching camisoles that became popular lingerie in the early 1910's. That French style is where the name knicker for 'racy' ladies sexy silk panties came from, loose and almost like a men's boxer style.

The very first, real, original knickers were actually European sports mens' short fitted tweed trousers that came to just below the knee. They were loose around the hips and thighs and fitted below the knee, designed for golfers and 'gentleman' fishermen and hunters. Had lots of utilitarian pockets. Worn with knee high socks. Came into style in the 19th century if I recall correctly.

Then the French designers applied the name to their ladies French Knickers and men's sports knickers went out of style.

Also called tap pants maybe because in the movie musicals of the 1930s chorus girls seemed to wear them

I also don't consider the vox pics granny panties. I wore them during and post pregnancy. I kept a few pairs around to wear during the "period" days. I've not worn them in years. I find them uncomfortable now under most pants as the waist is lower. They feel too bulky for me now.

Absolutely LOVED my "great whites" for that time of the month. Lots of coverage for those bulky pads of yesteryear.

I love it!

I'm a traditionalist at heart, so while I have a few pairs of pastel colours at my disposal, white, is, and always has been my go-to choice. So old-fashioned I am...
