I am of a certain age now, and it is hard to find something that I really like because so many shirts have 3/4 length sleeves. This sleeve length is weird to me. Well, I mean anything kind of different occasionally is good, but there is an over-abundance of 3/4 length sleeves when you get to a certain strata of fashion (women 40 and over?)
Yes, I do own everything from strapless to sleeveless to short, med, 3/4 to long sleeves, but 3/4 sleeves are disproportionately easier to find then the others, and that's stupid and annoying!

I hate 3/4 length sleeves. They never feel right and annoy me. I have some elbow length sleeves and they are much more comfy to me.

I have a few 3/4 length sleeves tops...and they don't bother me at all. I wonder if the typical climate where one lives might be a determining factor?

For instance, I generally dislike wearing layers. I live in Missouri, so early Springs and Autumns often can be a little chilly, and I'd MUCH prefer 3/4 sleeves, as opposed to keeping a cardigan around. But maybe OP, being in Dallas - Ft. Worth area, doesn't have to deal as much with those transitional seasons?

I love 3/4 length sleeves--I'm wearing them right now. Often short sleeves are too short to be work-appropriate, I don't wear sleeveless often, and as a petite person, often long sleeves are too long (I actually hate long sleeves, to be honest.)

I love 3/4 sleeves, I find full length sleeves can get annoying, esp. if they are loose and flop around and get in my way.

Plus I have fairly long arms and the the sleeves often end up being too short anyway. But they aren't short enough to look purposeful, they just look like my clothes don't fit properly. There is more flexibility with shorter sleeves, because they can be elbow length down to a few inches above the wrist and still look like they are the length they were intended to be.

I also like that they span the seasons nicely, our weather here in Denver can be so variable, it's best to have clothing that can be work in different types of weather.

Elbow length is the only sleeve worse than 3/4 for me- how it's just right THERE when you're trying to bend your elbow.

First thing you always have to do... follow the money.

Arm length varies greatly, so long sleeves are a crapshoot since they need to end exactly at the wrist - will be too long on some, too short on others, so they won't buy the shirt. 3/4 length though, has a range that's probably acceptable to most (as long as it's between elbow and forearm) even if they have different arm lengths.

Also, takes less fabric than long sleeves. $$$$ saved by manufacturer.

For me personally, I don't mind 3/4 length, but I prefer long-sleeved for work since my office leans cold. And I don't find sweaters over 3/4 length sleeves to be comfortable.

3/4 sleeves end up looking like the arm equivalent of high water pants on me, because I'm not very tall.

I realized a while back that I didn't want to wear any long sleeves or 3/4 sleeves no matter what the weather was like, so I shortened the sleeves on my shirts and now they're all just right.

Three quarter sleeves save the manufacturer money, fit a variety of arm lengths, and can look stylish if that is the current style. But I am not fond of them either. But even worst for long armed me, is a full length sleeve that is shorter than I expect. I am used to having long sleeves hit my arm above the wrist, but sometimes, the sleeves are two or three inches too short.

I am seeing more elbow length sleeved now. I like them. I hope they become established as something easily found and an option for those of us who don’t wear sleeveless anymore.
