I like the sneakers too! I'd even throw a sport coat on with the sneakers and maybe a collar less shirt.

Wearing the right dress shoes, yes, looks great.

Wearing any kind of sneaker makes you look like an eight year old kid, or an idiot American tourist, one of the two.

I agree with this. Especially WHITE sneakers which have never looked good with jeans.

LOL, that was our "clubbing attire" in the 1980's.

We wore very tight, slim legged jeans (high wasted, and often acid washed) with stiletto heeled pumps. Oh, and big hair!

Glad I was good and slim back then....

Of course anyone can wear anything that they want to.

DH usually wears a dressier casual shoe such as Sperry's or sometime his Samba's. I wouldn't call the shoes in the first picture to be dress shoes. The brown ones would be fine. I would not want my husband wearing something glossy like tuxedo shoes with jeans, however.

I don't think the OP was referring to the shoes in the first pic, just the jeans.

The jeans plus the brown shoes.

I don't agree. With the right cut of jeans, pants or suit pants, certain types of sneakers can look good. It's a trend I've been seeing quite a bit in the last year or two and there have been some articles about it in men's style magazines.

Ragpicker jeans are juvenile.

I personally favor loafers over sneakers.
