I am in Midwest where we wear some type of coat from Oct to April, everyday. So I have to have several kind due to change weather. The fall jackets do last me years because I have more fall jackets (because they are cute) & we have shorter fall + a heavy sweater can be used in fall. But winter jackets don't last more than 2 years maybe 3 years max if I skip out on washing my winter jacket. As soon as I wash (dry clean) the jacket, the warmth is gone. I only keep 2 winter jacket at any given time, usually the older jacket with less warmth becomes my light winter jacket (above freezing temperature day).
Debating if I am better off having 3 jackets for style and for them to last longer. Really annoying having to buy new jackets every other year. I am short, fat and they are expensive
I do love after Christmas shopping for winter clothes, great clearance deal but hard to find size. That's why I like online shopping in Jan.
