Flair on handbags - tying a scarf to the handbag or purse jewelry. Or today I saw pom poms attached to the handles of bags sold in Macy's. I think it looks stupid. That is my (offensive) opinion but I don't know why or how this became a fashion. What is the point of having this on your bag?
I collect vintage scarves, but I don't like to wear them because I always get too warm, so I tie them onto my bag sometimes. It only looks right with a very plain structured bag though.

When done correctly, the fabric of the scarf can lend texture, color and softness to a nondescript bag. The scarf also has to be the right size for the bag so that it stays in scale with the bag or purse.

Ita with other posts....you answered your own question about jewelry & scarves to add "flair"...just like jewelry doesn't have a point but to add flair or accessorize a look. It's about textures....prints.....fabrics.....& making a style your own.
It loses the personalization or style tho...if you buy it already on there...like the bags you said you saw in Macy's. It's kind of a knockoff IMO........rather than something you put together yourself.........

I just want to say- you do realize that this is what Prostitutes do right...?

Really? I remember when women tied scarves to handbags in the 1970s. They weren't prostitutes.
