This reminds me of the time I was taking Fashion and Cothing at college. My professor did a whole unit on color and was mad because she had written her thesis on it and then that book came out. She was mad that she didn't do it sooner. Anyhoo, one of our assignments was to collect color swatches after determining what season we were. We were then supposed to bring them to her to see if we were right. So one of those students came to her and had all browns, which were all the wrong colors on her because she had light brown hair and not much contrast. The teacher wanted to tell her she was wrong, but she was dressed head to toe in all those same colors. It was funny watching her try to diplomatically tell her she looked awful in those colors.

I can't tell you how many times I've bought something in colors that I love, like sage green, olive green, orange, or with names like "chili pepper" or "spice" (kind of a burnt orange), and then either returned them or got rid of them later. I think I kept forgetting how bad they look on me. Now I know not to even bother.

Unless you're a convict.

I follow this rule since I hate stripes! I don't wear stripes and I don't decorate with stripes either.

That you're so bothered by it says more about you than it does about the person wearing the "offending" color.
Fine, but they could be sending a negative message out to the general public.

But yeah, let's not bother them with such unimportant matters, right?

I keep buying pink blouses, but never wear them.
