I like them and rate the look about as highly as any other color of denim. The only concern is fading, and I think something has changed with the dye being used. A definitely black pair I bought about 2 years ago hasn't faded at all, and I wasn't careless with its predecessors that did.

I think they're especially attractive with my dog's white fur all over them.

Seriously, I think they're flattering. Great for eating out casual or going to movies at night. Or for winter. Just a change from regular jeans.

I love my Joe's high-waisted, black denims. They fit like leggings and are my go-to jeans as they are super-flattering. An added plus is they conceal alot of my "fluffiness" while I'm in between sizes. Black is very slimming. The color has held up after multiple washes. I wash them using Tide Pods on warm, and dry on low or air-dry. No fading as of yet and I've had mines for several months.

Back sometime around in '81 or so, someone from one of the mid-Western fly over states (aka the bible belt) told me that only Satan worshipers wore black blue jeans. Maybe they had special black blue jeans back then or something? This was pre-internet so I couldn't ask more than just that one person, it could have been only a local from that specific area rumor.

They were very popular in the 90's. I had a couple of pairs.

As a goth, I love them. Don't own enough since nobody makes any decent cuts anymore. Going to start sewing my own.

Depends on the pair. It takes awhile to find one that doesn't have every fiber and/or hair get stuck to it.

I got a pair or two from Levi's that were pretty good. Also, every few years I will stumble upon a pair at the DKNY outlet that fit me perfectly. (I have to find tall sizes.)
