Wash your face twice a day? If I have been outside gardening or hiking, then maybe. Being a maverick of sorts, I just do what I do unless it is dangerous.
It would only be bad for your face if you hold your face under the water for the entire shower, but hopefully no one else is doing that.
Yeah I know. I just put my face in the water to rinse off my face wash and to get it wet originally. That is it. I moisturize everything after I get out. I do take pretty warm ones. I tend to get congested and take morning ones, and the steam helps a lot.
If it's cold I take a pretty hot shower otherwise, it's usually slightly hotter than lukewarm. I wash my face in the shower but I only use a gentle face wash, the weekly exfoliator and sometimes Dove soap. I don't get why we shouldn't wash our face in the shower. Seems pretty convenient to me.

I interpreted it as your body being under a hot shower too long while you're exfoliating and cleaning your face. I'd say 95% of the time, my facial skincare routine is over the bathroom sink, in front of the mirror.

How long do people spend cleaning their faces? I use a Clarisonic brush about 2x a week, which takes 2 minutes. During that time, my face is no getting wet. Do they think we are taking 30-minute blazing hot showers daily?

An ex friend of mine did in fact take 30 minute showers. He had a serious "scrub thyself clean" issue.
Last time I looked, your face was in fact covered in...
Yes, believe it or not....
SKIN!
So treat it like any other skin. Wash when dirty. Keep out of sun. If dry, use lotion. Where you wash it? Up to you, but it's certainly convenient when you're in the shower with warm water and soap to wash your face along with all the rest of you. Can't imagine why you would try not to wash your face in the shower. (Do you have to cover your head with a plastic bag to keep the water off? Be careful there, bucky!)
I take hot showers. I have my water heater set at 120 degrees. Hot enough to wash dishes, just right for a shower without having to add the cold water.
I shave in the shower so my face gets washed anyway.
I tend to stay in the shower longer than necessary because it feels good.
