Trying to make athletic shoes ever lighter and then demands much less than Zion Williamson could put to them will show the limits of human engineering skills.
They've been poorly constructed for a long time (20 years). I found that soles on the walking shoes disintegrated when wet. I would not buy any but their very top end, such as the Air Max 2, which is closer to $200.
It's probably been over 30 years since I quit buying Nike running shoes after multiple incidents where the outsoles came loose long before the shoes were worn out.
I have never had that problem in the dozens of pairs of shoes I've owned from New Balance, Brooks, Saucony, Mizuno, and probably some other brands I can't remember now.
I consider Nike to be a marketing company that has overseas sweatshops make some crappy shoes for them as a sideline.
If anyone in this thread actually likes Nike shoes (even if you don't) I found an app called GOAT (Greatest Of All Time?) that has limited run Nike's as well as other brands.
Sellers first ship them to GOAT for verification of advertised condition / authenticity, and then they are forwarded to the buyer. Nike has re-released a lot of the Shox I used to wear when I was in middle and high school.
I got a bit misty-eyed when I saw some of my favorites that I was never quite able to get back then. I promptly bought a pair when I found them on the app.
I've compared and worn adidas, nike and another brand for 25+ years and playing a competitive sport. I always knew Nikes wore out quicker. Nikes felt lite and looked nice but always wore out near the toe or heel quicker than Adidas or the other brand. The ankle support is also bad in every Nike I've worn.

Is there any such thing as ankle support in a low cut sneaker? Aside from basketball shoes, I'm not sure you'll find much without going to something like their tactical boot:
