Anna's channel is all about looking feminine, elegant and rich even on a budget. She is Swedish with half a million subscribers from around the world.

I haven't been to Zara in years so I found this video interesting. Of course, the inventory is constantly changing so you won't find the same items unfortunately but it gives you a good place to start. I'll have to check out the other video she mentioned about shopping on a budget.

with most of these kind of companies, the women's section seems to have some decent offerings that can look nicer than they are, but the men's clothing almost always looks really cheap. Sometimes it's the quality of construction, sometimes it's the fit, sometimes it's the material - it's always a corner cut somewhere that causes it to seem cheap to me.

I don't know what the prices at Zara are like, but I've had good luck watching the clearance pages on higher-end retailers' websites. A friend of mine summed up this approach handily: "Buy the best quality you can with the money you have". Why pay full retail at Zara, when with the same money, you can get 60-80% off full retail at Nordy's or Nieman Marcus, or a good designer label at Macy's?

If you're lucky enough to give near a really good outlet mall, with genuine high-end outlet stores, not the kind that sell made-for-outlet merchandise, you can find top top quality at ridiculously low prices, especially if the outlet store is having a sale.

I remember going to Filene's basement many years ago. No idea if they still exist. I got a Ralph Lauren blazer for about $8 if I remember correctly. No dressing rooms, women stripped down in the aisles! Most women were prepared though and wore leotards.

Zara is an international clothing chain.

Filene's was a department store chain that went out of business.

Zaras is like H&M....disposable clothes that look like it. Better for women but on a guy it is crash and burn. Guys needs to buy basics at Macys or JC Penney then give it a rest.

I have a serious problem with Fast Fashion.

It ends up in landfills and is basically littering.

H&M is very popular in Sweden (it's a Swedish company, isn't it?), so that's probably why she's pushing fast fashion. The COL is high in Sweden, so buying fast fashion is one way to economize. They're used to it. I noticed another way Swedes economize on clothes, at least in the north, is to buy from kiosks at public markets, just like people in Russia. The high cost of overhead is eliminated that way, so the the products are cheaper.

A lot of clothes which are donated to various charities are sold to companies which recycle and shred them for carpet padding and insulation.
