Oh, I remember using that lotion once. It got to be kind of gross after a while, just rubbing these teeny tiny little balls of dead skin off onto a piece of newspaper on the floor. The thing was, my heels looked nice and pink for about a week, but the calluses built right back up after that so it was pretty much a wasted effort.

Here's an article from Good Housekeeping on the topic. https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/bea...t-peel-safety/

Per the article, if your feet are otherwise healthy, Baby Foot peel is safe. If you have warts, or open sores, don't do it because Baby Foot has lactic acid, salicylic acid, alcohol, and glycolic acid.

I think you should Google photos of Baby Foot results because it's more than just exfoliation.

I'm familiar with the product. It's exfoliation. It's dramatic looking exfoliation, but it's still exfoliation. Our feet just generally have more dead skin than other parts of our bodies.

Yes, that reason is that they are the most neglected parts of our bodies. There is nothing wrong with removing dead skin from your feet.

I have hyperkeratosis, a condition that make calluses grow out of control. They get stiff and crack, making it painful to walk.

Creams with uric acid, like Kerasal, help dissolve the thick skin. That may be what's in the booties.
ETA...someone else listed the ingredients as lactic acid, salicylic acid, alcohol, and glycolic acid. Salicylic acid is aspirin.

When I am soaking in the tub, the hard calluses on my feet get soft and easy to scrape off. HOWEVER! I learned the hard way, they are there for a reason. They are protecting places that would otherwise be painfully rubbed.

I remember my skin peeling off of me when I was a child in the mid-1960s ... but I had scarlet fever.

Those are not pleasant memories. I'll pass on the acid gel ...

I think that's a different level of skin peeling.
