Last night I paid attention to my sleeping position. I’m on my side, but because my shoulder is forward, my head is turned slightly. My face doesn’t touch the pillow. No wrinkles for me! LOL
It's a goal that's doable. I've read that about sleeping positions. I don't know if it's true.
I now sleep about 3/4 to the side...partly back, partly side. Not fully either, if that makes sense.
I used to sleep on my back. Another poster said people can't sleep on their backs all night, but they can. I did. I went to sleep on my back and stayed on my back all night, as far as I know, and woke up on my back. It was my natural sleeping position. Don't know why it changed a bit. Maybe the position of my tv.
I'm more concerned about sagging than wrinkles, although if there's an easy way to prevent wrinkles, I'm all for it.
I'm getting a silk pillowcase soon (a gift). I've heard that silk helps prevent wrinkles. That doesn't make sense to me, but I guess I'll have a chance to see if that's true.
The silk is less drying to your skin and dryness can create wrinkles! Also the silk helps your hair too.
I asked my friends - most of them sleep on their sides or on stomachs.
Unfortunately, these positions also mean there's constant pressure on our face for around eight hours each night.
Just imagine: 8 (EIGHT) hours pressure on your skin!
Over time, this repetitive pressure and movement creates permanent wrinkles on our face.
But when you sleep on your back, your face and decolletage aren't crumpled. They aren't crushed or squished. This allow the skin on these areas to benefit most from our sleep and skincare regimen.
I made the decision to actively train myself to sleep on my back - to form a new habitage. My june habitage challenge.
What do you think?
What do I think?
I think it would be fabulous to have eight hours of sleep every night!

None of us want to get wrinkles when we're older..........BUT....IMO you can kinda take it way over the top if you worry about wrinkles from side sleeping.....just use a silk pilllowcase....or you stop laughing because you are afraid of the laugh lines you'll have when you're 60 or 70. We can't cuddle if we sleep on our backs....but it works if my fiance sleeps on his.
What's important is to take care of yourself & your skin tho..........AND get a good restful night's sleep. AND worrying or writing about problems will cause stress & wrinkles too.

IMO our skin care....diet & nutrition.....exercise......& protecting our skin from the sun are so much more important to prevent wrinkles for when we're old.
Have you really changed how you sleep because of it tho?

We all have our own skincare regimen & diet & exercise that work for us tho. I just could never change the way I sleep........I'm too comfy as a side sleeper & I like to cuddle....so even if I'm wrong & it causes me wrinkles when I'm old, it is so worth it.
I have sleep apnea so can't sleep on my back. Even if I didn't have apnea I would hate sleeping on my back. I don't have wrinkles even though I sleep on my side. Maybe it's MyPillow which I scrunch to support my neck so less pressure on my face.
My physical therapist told me to sleep on my back and I just can't. There are lots of videos where they use 10 pillows to support different parts of your body. It just looks way too complicated. My face is fine though. It's ok to get some wrinkles as you age.
