I take offense to that. Flip flops are not "feminine." They are the most masculine thing a guy can wear. Unless he's wearing a pink colored one with the thin strap. But if it's one of those Reef Fanning Flip Flops, then that's as manly as a man can get.
I have 2 long time male friends who wear "utilikilts" on a regular basis except in the depths of winter. Yes, with ordinary male underwear, often long johns. Note that I wrote "TWO friends". Two out of all the other men I know. They didn't choose to wear "skirts" because they cared about making some gender statement. It was more of a "I can wear whatever I want as long as it doesn't break a law and you can't stop me."
The guy I'm talking about wore a traditional tartan kilt with knee socks and a semi casual shirt and jacket. Kind of going for the traditional Scottish kilt outfit, but a toned down, semi casual version of it.
I tell you what, you go to the grocery store; Home Despot; the barbershop; the public library; the neighborhood bar; Olive Garden; Guitar Center, the art supplies store; Best Buy. You'll see lots of men those places.
Pants. Short pants, long pants.
Ain't gonna see no skirts on men. Ain't gonna see no dresses on men.
One weirdo on a fashion show runway is about as relevant to the 150+ million men in the USA, as a moon rock.
In Roman Times Men wore the Dresses & Woman Wore the Pants. In Scotland MEN Still wear the SKIRTS aka Kilts

Puffy shirts were pirate fashion, so seems masculine.
Also, not just Meatloaf, but Justin Hayward of the Moody Blues: his signature look.
Skinny jeans I never associated with just women's fashion...more European or Hollywood men.
I like the tunic-wearing medieval garb in movies. Very masculine and fun to see the male legs!
On a Colorado River trip, the guides had their own style: wrap-around ankle-length sari skirts and blue fingernail polish. I got a kick out of that look.
This is an odd question, like a guy thinks ... "hmm, I need to wear something 'feminine' today?"
Does any guy actually think that???
The equivalent would be a woman asking, hmm I need to wear something masculine today? It makes no sense.
Guys are more likely to wonder whether there choice of clothing is girly because of how society is set up. Most clothing tailored for women is designed specifically for them, whereas with men's clothing it can be worn by both sexes.
