Here in coastal Georgia, when it rains, it POURS. It’s funny though, that nobody seems to wear raincoats. Hardly anyone uses umbrellas either. Not sure why. Perhaps because the rain tends to only last a few minutes at a time, and it’s also very hot here. If you get a little wet, you’ll dry quickly.

I love a rainy day, and I wear a cute raincoat and go about my business as usual. Here, a rainy day is a welcome respite.

Since it only gets really freezing a little in the winter, I can easily wear my usual clothing & just bring an umbrella...& maybe some ankle-length rainboots!

I'm in Arizona. A rainy summer day means monsoon, huge amounts of rain and lightning in a short time. I stay indoors where it's safe.

I used to live in windward Hawaii. You can't avoid the rain, just wear light clothes and deal with being damp.

Before that, I lived in California, where it doesn't rain in the sumner.

There wasn't a choice on the poll for 'swimsuit'? I love swimming in the rain there's interesting effects when the raindrops hit the water's surface.

This is Hawaii, and as Steiconi mentioned, when it rains you just wear what you're wearing and get damp around the edges.

If it's an all day drizzle kinda rain and not one of the don't look up or you'll drown kinda rains, then I'll find the umbrella, where ever it was left. There's usually a couple of them in each car and one by the door, but mostly we don't use them unless it's an all day rain. If it's a torrential downpour, those usually just last a few minutes so we just wait a bit and it will go away.

Not a raincoat, because it would be too hot. If I don't have an umbrella, I would just wear normal summer clothes, like shorts and a t-shirt. And change when I get home. I don't wear sleeveless hoodies but they sound like they would be too hot as well.

Last night I wore my lightweight, water resistant hooded jacket. It was 75F with a dew point of 72. But it's not like I was outside for hours, I didn't find it uncomfortable for the 30 minutes I wore it. I don't like not having my hands free.

Here is what I wear when it rains in the summer. The dark grey hood is waterproof:

It’s quite comfortable. I don’t feel too hot wearing it.

Sleeveless hoodies with deep pockets in light weight material allow me to go out for a walk when it looks like it might rain. The deep pockets allow me to securely carry my cell phone, keys and tissues. The hoodie is there if it starts to rain to protect a $6,000 pair of hearing aids. The hoodie is also helpful to minimize the noise feedback picked up by the hearing aids on a very windy day.
