Ok, I have to defend crocs, the ones that look like the mule type shoes ARE ugly but they (Crocs) has a flip flop that is SO comfortable! They come in mutiple colors too! I have really flat feet and sometimes if I walk around all day in flip-flops my feet hurt but the Crocs are super comfy.. don't knock them just yet. I'm really only talking about the flop flop Crocs though.

People where I live where flip flops 24/7. I've seen people wearing them when it was 10 degrees out. I think what I hate about flip flops is that people here can't walk in them. I hate the noise they make and the fact no one here knows how to actually pick their feet up when they walk in them drives me batty. I don't wear them, don't own them and never will. I'm not a foot person and my feet are always cold no matter the temp, so it's socks and shoes all the time. I know, the horror..

I am one of those folks in Phoenix. And I wear flip flops year round. Not the beachy kind-nice leather and ornamented that are more sandal type than "beach/athletic". And I get a pedicure at the salon at least every 2 weeks because I know since people can see my feet they should look nice. They are very comfortable, and no less "appropriate" than any sandal which bears most of your feet.

What I do not like personally: Crocs...

I wear Crocs when walking the beach or doing lawn work but I don't wear them elsewhere because I don't think they are particularly attractive.

Yup. Havaianas for me in the summer. I don't consider feet to be disgusting (some people's feet, sure, but not most).

I work in an office building and some of the girls wear flip flops to work. That I don't get. WHY. I love being able to wear business casual (especially capris) but crusty toes and flaky heels..Why do we have to see all of that and then when they walk down the aisle all you hear is flap flap. I wish the girls would stop wearing them to work as I fear that flip flops are so not appropiate for work (unless you work at a beach) that it may one day be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Then we will all be back to wearing stuffy suits to work all the time because businesses will say enough is enough, everyone must be completely covered.

Thats just disgusting. I make sure my feet look nice, I paint my toe nails, keep them clipped, I make sure my heels are soft. I used to wear sandals to work but alot of people do here in Florida.

Actually an airplane is absolutely the worst choice for flip-flops...Picture a burning plane that needs to be evacuated and the burning rubber and plastics stuck to their naked feet...
