Melt is no doubt an okay word for a hair colour for women, but in U.K. melt, (not a colour), is an extremely insulting word for one guy to call another, it means a wimp or loser, not manly.

It's called Cher Hair and it's been popular for 60 years with many women of all ages (even some men) ever since the early 1960's, even before Cher 'trended' the style in 1965.
