i like having first dates outdoors.
more casual, more interesting, more relaxed, less pressure, less stifling.
and not a total loss if the date is a dud. time in nature is always well spent.
Cut-off jeans, high white socks with three stripes at the top (the one in the middle a different color, the other two the same), Chuck Taylor sneakers and a colored tank top. And a sweatband.
We're just walking the beach and downtown area surrounding the beach. We might even stop for a drink at a rooftop cafe. Temps should be in the upper 70s or low 80s.
This is the first time I've done a "first date" on a beach.
Should I wear typical beach attire or wear what would normally be worn on a first date?
T-shirt or polo?
Jeans or khaki shorts?
Canvas shoes, flip flops or sandals?
Shoes (so sand doesn't get in between your toes; look nicer for a date)
If it's going to stretch into the evening, jeans would be better than shorts. If it's daytime only, and you have great legs, go with shorts.
Polos look odd these days, what with the collar. There are tops that are inbetween tees and polos. Such as a tee-type, thin & feminine in a flattering color, that maybe ties at the bottom-side for a little flair. But still casual and not out of place on a beach. It could have maybe a little insignia or pocket, but doesn't have to. But not a plain tee that is loose and falls down your body w/no shape. Tie at the bottom to hug your hips & have a little flair, or if it's a plain tee it should hug your figure somewhat and be a flattering feminine color. Not like his tee.
I'd go with flip flops, to walk on the beach. It's a whole lot easier to shake sand out of flip flops, rather than any other shoe.
