I can say that women can and DO dress for a specific judge. I think that Good Wife was pretty realistic in this respect- with people having to change how they acted in front of specific judges/arbitrators/hearing officers.

That's what I thought, too. Pretty modest. And the episode of "Suits" I found on youtube didn't show anyone dressed seductively or revealingly, either. This makes it hard to answer the OP's question, if we can't find representative examples of what s/he's talking about.

My original link has a lot of pages, so here are some direct links instead. Call me old fashioned, call me out of touch, or call me a rube, but if I wandered into a law office where there were so many body hugging, low cut, or bare shoulder outfits I'd have to check the address to make sure I was in the right building.

For those of you who haven’t watched it,I courage you to watch it.
So much fun! And even though I’m not a fashionista I did enjoy the fashions both for the ladies and the men

I couldn't open most of those (probably being in another country), but I did see a couple. Megan Markle's character did not wear overly seductive stuff. But Donna and Jessica certainly did! I'm not criticizing, it was fun to watch. I just didn't think it was very realistic, but what do I know. Plunging backs, plunging necklines, always sleeveless, asymmetrical, clingy and revealing. Quite a "show"!

It's addictive! I was so glad it went for nine whole seasons. We just finished it last night and now I don't know where to go to feel so engaged. The "Good Wife" was great too. I don't remember them being quite as "high fashion".

I had no idea there was such a show. But I just googled images of clothes worn on the show, and yes, they look pretty normal - both for cheap attorneys and expensive ones. But every place has its own norms. What flies in LA, and in the gooberesque Deep South, may be considered too florid, in more conformist/repressed/competitive/cutthroat parts of America. But it all depends on what sort of "Expensive Attorneys" one is talking about, and their precise locale (right down to the office buildings where they work, and and the co-ops where the particular attorney was allowed to occupy an apartment) (and where they went to school, and where they want their children to be allowed to go to school, and...).

Well darn, didn't realize I was on a foreign site. But the outfits were so body hugging they basically looked like they were painted on, lol. I totally think the women looked great, but realistic, not so much.
PS- Normal, I was taught the two button rule for work situations, three buttons was a no-no and unprofessional, does this not still hold true?
