Possibly. Besides some pants wearing out & getting holes due to wear & tear, I probably have enough clothing for the rest of my life...but of course, shopping's usually fun.
I actually haven't really shopped much in the last year.
I was shopping for some shorts for my grandfather's birthday, and it seems like spring/summer 2021 inventory is already almost completely sold out. I know due to COVID the production lines were short-staffed, resulting in less production. Also, fewer brands are producing resort/cruise collections.
Could we potentially see some shortages of spring/summer clothing into fall and winter? This could be problematic for warmer climates such as Phoenix, Houston, or Miami. Most brands won't likely release their Spring/Summer 2022 collections until at least January.
I think so. I've been traveling across the country this past week and have stopped in Kohl's, DSW, Ross, TJ Maxx, Nordstrom's Rack, and stores in premium outlets in different states. Almost every store that I went into had only 50% or so of their normal amount stock of clothing and shoes. I was shocked. It's worse on the east coast I noticed. The shoe stores that seem to have their normal stock were ones that only sell sneakers.
Meh. Most Americans have substantially more choices in clothes than they could ever realistically wear. Unless someone happens to be a self-indulgent fashionista. Shortages a problem? ROTFLMAO! Maybe that would help people trim the fashion fat a bit and save their money for more important things!
I can tell you've never met Pink Jazz. His detailed article on the choices in premium toilet paper was a classic.
