Oh, totally! Love how these ladies rock the '40s style. The vintage vibes are on point—dresses, hair, everything! It's like a blast from the past, and they're nailing it. Makes you appreciate the timeless fashion. So cool to see a throwback in today's world!
Two good Hollywood movie examples to show classic styles worn well are:
The Women, 1939 large ensemble cast of only Hollywood females.
The Best of Everything, 1959, another large female cast wearing much of working women's ware of the day.
Of course it helps when the studio system had great designers and knew how to accentuate the best of their "Stars".
Any film with costumes designed by Academy Award winning designer Edith Head is worth watching. If you are really into fashion, read her biography. Lots of tidbits about the stars she designed for, many of whom were the opposite in life of the official studio persona. Most of them had physical flaws and you can learn how she disguised them.
I found this short video gem from 1953 of Edith discussing how she designed for films.
I love clothes that made women look beautiful,. The cardigans, skirts, they were feminine , they just made a woman look elegant.
Two words come to mind, "Seamed Stockings"
