How is it appropriate to comment on someone's appearance and how "old" they look?
LOL. Do you know where you are? In case you haven't noticed, this is the fashion and BEAUTY forum. Critiquing and commenting on our own and other people's appearances and apparent ages is what get's done here. It's what this forum is for so people can talk about what to do or not do in order to appear better looking.
If I spent the night (or a few nights, it seems in this case) hung over and crying in jail with no access to face wash and moisturizer, I'd look a few years older, too!
LMAO, it's a running joke that everyone on the Retirement forum claims they look ten years younger than their age. A lot of people do make that claim. They are convinced.

And FWIW, I guess that my wife and I are lucky, as I'm 70 and she's 72, and frequently, when we've been asked our age, most people think we're in our 50s.....
Yep.
As to the lady in the OP, the phrase "rode hard and put away wet" comes to mind....
She doesn’t look good, but she certainly looks her age. People seem to get hung up on very superficial physical characteristics when judging age, like bags under the eyes, disheveled hair, bloated face, etc. In these photos, I don’t see the tell-tale wrinkles and skin characteristics that I would expect of someone in their 50’s.
On the opposite end, a lot of people in their 50/60’s think they look 35 because they stay fit, when I just see a fit 60 year-old.
I think the bolded is because many aren't used to seeing fit people in their 2nd half of a century, also many people who are fit are outdoorsy type people who spend a lot of time in the sun( cycling, rock climbing, surfing etc etc) and many of those people by their 30's have the body of a 17 year old and the face of a 50 year old so when someone starts working out after the kids moved out and is meeting 35 year old's who look the same age as them(from years of sun damage) they start to think they must look 30
That woman does not look 57. She looks her age. She looks to be a late 30s woman.
The problem here, is people are getting way too used to seeing all of these moronic filters that turn people into cartoon characters. You're forgetting what people actually look like.
and someone mentioned her weight....
I mean, look at her legs. That's not fat.
That's muscle. She looks like she's in pretty good shape.
Once a woman reaches 28 ,unless she has a privileged life and /or know how to take care of herself, she could look older than her age. I usually advice older woman to keep her hair short ,long hair makes her face older, force of gravity, and cover her knees.
Really?? I think the opposite. I always though super short hair made women look older.. I will keep my hair below my shoulders til I die lol
