Why not? If you like a particular college, maybe their sports, why not support them by buying licensed products with their logo?

I don't have a problem with people wearing clothing with the name of a college they never attended, but I won't wear clothing with some player's name on it. It just doesn't make sense to me.

Geez, I still wear my concert T-shirts from the mid-80s. 10,000 Maniacs In My Tribe tour is a favorite - from 1987.

I'm just happy they still fit!

I just realized that a shirt I keep at the office for "cold" weather is at least 23 years old. So, as long as it still fits, I'm wearing it!

I've seen newly made "retro" soccer tees for the 1982 NASL Soccer Bowl being sold online recently. I like soccer and am from the city that match was in, so if I needed any more clothes, I might seek that one out.
