I was never one to wear t-shirts at all even if they were plain, but I never wear them w/ ANY writing/pictures on them. But if I did, I wouldn't care what year it says.
I did have one nice quality turtleneck that just had a certain year all along the arms & I kept wearing it for a long time until I couldn't fit in it anymore.

Interesting comment about never wearing tees, I had to think why I do wear them. When walking, working in the yard, sometimes to work, going to school/college sporting events, volunteering for just about everything and I wear big ones to sleep in. So for me, it's part of the day almost every day.
Why wouldn't you support the college you attended?
If college was anything like my high school experience- I wouldn't blame them. That's why I don't wear anything from high school, and now I question why I have any of it. I used to hang the tassel on my rearview mirror, though. It's also why I can't stand part of the greeting process in this city where they ask; "what school didja go to," blah.
Where them as long as you want, OP, I still have work shirts I wear from time to time. Personally I don't think a 1999 City Park Easter Egg Hunt shirt with all the sponsers on the back, is all that stylish. I see thrift stores selling stuff like that, and I wonder who is really looking for a 2003 Phillip-Morris company picnic & breast cancer walk shirt.

How long after high school or college would you wear your school t shirt? IMO, it’s kind of the same thing tho with a school tee, you can at least buy a new one that isn’t threadbare.
It’s zero fashion effort so your friends tease you….but, you have to do you & if you like it, that’s all that counts. But since you’re asking, it must bother you a little. And, you can be super comfortable, fashionable & less dated all at the same time with just a little effort.
I have a favorite long-sleeve T from the 2012 Jersey Shore marathon. It is starting to get holey, so it's a pajama top now.
Oh, and I didn't actually RUN. My niece did. I just bought a shirt. Lol.
Omg, I first read this to mean that there had been a marathon showing of the tv show "Jersey Shore" and you had bought a t-shirt as a souvenir. It's only 3:30 pm here right now, but I think I'll just go to bed. lol
