I haven't worn a wedding band in 15 years. I'm just not a ring person.
I'm not into finger rings either. Well I'm widowed, so I'm technically single now anyway. But, working on mechanical projects, around electric power, and handling high-end guns, rings are in the way and more trouble than they are worth.
I never take them off, they're just always there, kind of forgot about them. But so are my sister's rings, which were given to me when she died 19 years ago. Spouse never wore one due to work, it doesn't matter anymore.
I wear mine 24/7, except when I had surgery. I don't have an engagement ring, it's just a simple band but it means the world to me to be married to my husband. He's a woodworker so I won't let him wear one.
Once I put mine on, I never took it off unless medically necessary. However, 13 years ago, my husband and I lost enough weight to drastically change ring sizes and our rings could not be resized due to design. So for a while I wore a cheap one til we could replace them. Once we both lost our weight, we got new ones and those, like the original ones, have only come off when medically necessary.
Before I retired I sometimes removed mine for work. Now I wear the wedding band 24/7 unless it must be removed for medical procedures, as others have stated. The engagement ring I take off at night to avoid possibly scratching the headboard with the diamonds.

Where I come from, and lots of people I know here, are doing the same. Men and women. Most of them also change street/work clothes to home clothes.
That's interesting. In the 80s I did that too, when I had to wear a coat and tie to work, but now office work has become so casual that I can wear the same as at home. I only have to go in two days a week, and so few people are there that no one cares what we wear any more. I'll wear zippered-bottom jogging pants, and sneakers, flannel shirt in winter to the office and not have to change when I get home. Maybe that, and removing rings is a regional traditional thing.
I wear mine everyday. I'll take them off to clean them but that's about it.
I have an engagement ring inside an enhancer, and I have a ruby and diamond ring that fits inside the enhancer...if I want to shake things up a little.
I take mine off when I go to bed, then I put it back on after I take my morning shower.
