Never heard of it......just Marshall's.....but I can't imagine a store requiring a dress to work & pantyhose too..........:/
Many places allowed pants, it's just that if you chose to wear a skirt or dress you HAD to wear pantyhose, bare legs weren't allowed. Wearing pants required wearing socks or knee high hosiery, again no bare legs, even if only a few inches at the ankle were showing. Because of our dress code I had to get a doctor's note when I needed to go bare legged for a short while due to medical issues.

So happy I've always just had my scrubs for work.........but that's why I love fashion so much outside of it.........because there isn't any at my job....

Exactly.
Marshall Field's was an upscale department store based in Chicago.
I'm old and old-school. I hardly ever wear skirts or dresses now, but I wouldn't dream of going bare-legged when I do wear skirts or dresses (unless they are long enough to cover longer boots) -- except for casual sundresses, of course. Plus darker-colored panty hose disguises heavy legs to at least some extent, imo.

I went to buy some warm leggings for the winter recently at one of the chain drug stores and they did have pantyhose for sale. I haven't worn a dress in cold weather for many years but if I did I probably would want to wear a pair of pantyhose with the dress if I was going to a formal occasion and the dress didn't reach below my knees.
I hate them and I am mad that I had to wear them to work back when every place mandated them. I love slipping heels onto bare feet. !

It's true. Everyone these days is focussed on themselves and assume their beliefs or opinions are universal.
While one may hate PH, there are many girls and women who love them:
Pantyhose really isn't a thing about fashion IMO...it's an undergarment...& still is ofc... to cover up imperfections on the leg........& they have like control top stuff if you want. Ita that lots of ladies still use & like them ofc.................
I've tried the spray on nylons.........like Nyce & Sally Hansen....
edit: IMO only it's a better option but I love tights with skirts too...to stay warm
I still wear them and have no prob! Very Weird that you gals don't like them. What's the problem?!?
