So I don't have an American Apparel store near me and I have started to look at their clothes online. Just out of curiosity, do any of you buy stuff from there? What do you think of it??? I keep thinking it might just be cheap material, for a higher price...
I have a bunch of stuff from AA. We have stores here in NYC. It's not cheaply made. I have a skirt I wore all last summer and now I'm still wearing it. I also have bought their tank tops and t-shirts. Good IMHO
I have a bunch of AA t-shirts. I'd say the quality is high: thin enough to be comfortable, but doesn't fall apart easily.
However, I also have a bunch of AA polos and, while the price is much higher, the material is exactly the same as the Ts. I don't see the justification of charging $40-$50 just for a collar and 3 buttons. The polos wear quickly and look kind of faded and cheap pretty quick. Still good shirts, but definitely overpriced.
Another complaint: their clothes are made for tall, thin people. If you are not both of those, then the shirts will probably not fit right (too narrow and long). I'm not very tall so the shirts hang lower than I would like.
Their clothes seem very plain to me. However, the materials seem to be very durable. i have a couple of shirts I layer with t-shirts. Now Hollister is another thing. I bought a shirt and it ripped!!
I have to agree. When it first opened, everyone hyped the b'jesus out of it. I went and was not thrilled. Everything is all solid there- no designs or pictures or anything. Very boring. And they sell unitards. Who would wear a unitard?
its not very cheap my friend wears alot of AA and loves it the fabvric is thin but constructed well so it lasts for a while
