I prefer a clean shave on a man any day.

And that "soul patch" that some men wear is ridiculous looking. Makes me want to take my fingernail and scratch that hairy bug off their face.

My husband wears a goatee and I love it.

Soul patches look stupid. That one Billy Ray Cyrus has makes me crazy...lol

Way too many people are calling Van Dyke beards goatees these days.
The original Van Dyke was very pointed but even if its rounded it's still a Van Dyke as long as there is a connection to the mustache.
Glad to get that major world issue off my chest, now I can move on with the rest of my life !!!
I never knew this, good to know b'c I'm trying to get someone to grow what I thought was a goatee. I like the Van Dyke, I guess. Thanks for the info.

Full beards are in style around here. They're not even trimming under the jaw and neck areas. That's just wrong.

Beards are very effective at keeping the face warm in the winter.
I see a lot of guys try to trim their beards and make them all neat, but they look too articulate and just silly and sometimes kind of fake.
The only thing my SO really trims is the sides and a slight bit underneath but only in the summer every now and then. In the winter he'll let it get all big and fluffy, which if fine with me, especially since in the winter he works outside a lot.

And I can't stand soul patches. To me they just look so stupid! They might as well just shave it all off at that point.

Van Dyke, Goatee, makes no difference to me,...I don't care for either of them. Just give me some stubble and tousled hair for that "just rolled out of bed" look.
