Sephora makes their own brand of pencil eyeliner. It goes on easily and keeps its color for some time. It is also cheaper than some of the others they sell. They Do sell some pretty nice make-up though. Kohl's carries some nice cosmetics too, you should check them out. It's nice to be able to test stuff before buying. For Liquid liner I always used Lancome.
I switched from pencils to Smashbox powder liners years ago and never went back. I use a small flat brush and can do more on top and a tiny dark shadow under the eyes which does not smudge. I find undereye smudges aging on the over 30 set, plus you are not pulling the delicate eye area as a pencil can do.
I know pencils are easy- but try the powder -it lasts all day and creates great definition .
Looks like I will be spending an hour in Sephora in the near future! Thanks for all the suggestions thus far!
While you're there, check out the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils. They're great if you like to be able to smudge your lines, and they stay put. And the color selection can't be beat!
I love the Bare Minerals glide on pencil. Semi-waterproof, goes on so easy, and no allergic reactions.
