Speaking as a male, it completely depends on the actual curves of the particular full figured woman.

Ironically, the two full figured women in the article are perfect examples of women that shouldn't wear that skirt, LOL!

Why, because the widest bump in their figures' is too far down they side of their leg and looks like some sort of, well, sort of abnormal growth or something. (Sorry to sound mean, don't know a better way to put it.)

If that widest point were a little further up or a little more smoothly flowing into their figures it would work great. (As an experiment, if you have photoshop, modify that curve until it looks nice and youll get the idea.)

It's not so much is that woman full figured or not. It's "Do the proportions of her figure work with the look being worn?"

More of an artistic balance question than one of absolute size. To some extent it's also about what looks healthy. Which a large sized woman can both be and look.

Case in point. Marilyn Munroe and a host of other "old time pinup" type women were anything but skinny-skinny.

See this photo. Clearly Marilyn was "bottom heavy" in this shot, but the curves are "the right places".

If the skirt fits, wear it. No bulging, pulling or gapping. That goes for any size person.

The problem with saying this, is the fact that most women that should NOT be wearing such a skirt, take it to mean: If I can get it on and zipped up, then I'm good. Not.

If it flatters your figure, which means, if you have the proportions to pull it off, and the fit is good, then by all means do so. Otherwise, don't.

Its certainly true that most women would agree on that !
There are ,however, a LOT of men who would beg to disagree.

Hell, I'm 6' tall and a size 9/10 and I STILL look like a linebacker in some outfits.... the perks of being a tall gal

I agree with the posters who say if you have the curves in the right places, pencil skirts can look marvelous! It completely depends on your body shape...I've worked with many 'plus size' vintage pinup models and they looked AMAZING, but others looked dumpy if they didn't have the correct body.
