I think flip flops are good on the beach, amusement parks, pools, gym, and home. Wearing them anywhere else is just lazy especially wearing them to work.
Ditto. I know that not all flip-flops are created equal, but a lot of times they're just way too casual for where people are wearing them. Beach wedding? Yes. Church wedding? Not so much.

You could...if they fit on your feet, then you're wearing them, just with pain...but whatever, I'm not going to argue with you.

The real point of contention with your statement: Assuming you have such a condition there are at least 10 other styles of shoes that you could wear, which do not make such noises and are still acceptable. Straight slipons, for example. Or those shoes that look like ballerina footies. Or flats. Basically, something that fits your foot, encloses it at least partially, and does not slap against the bottom of your foot as you walk.

I seriously do not understand why people who wear flops don't get annoyed by the sound they make OR think they're acceptable in a business environment. Lucky me I don't run a business; I swear I would lock that down, even on casual Fridays.

another reason I hate flip flops and won't wear them out to walk around

Flip-flops are a magnet for dangerous, deadly bacteria

Flip-flops seem a little informal, but I wear a nice pair of leather sandals for at least 5 months of the year. And yes, everyone can see my ugly toes and the sandals do make a slight 'flip flop' sound when I walk. But it's 100 F here in Texas for a good part of the summer--and there is no way I'm going to wear socks or stockings from May through September (not even to the office).

I think its funny when people complain about the sound that a flip flop can make... and then say something positive about wearing heels... I seem to remember wearing heels and they make a sound as well!

Why dont we all just walk around with barefeet?
