How they "feel" is hardly relevant. What counts is how they're perceived.
No it doesnt. I find it way more disgusting that the idea is being perpetuated that the only thing that matters in life is how other people perceive you. That is absolutely a very sad place to live, where you live your life for other people, always striving to please others, even theoretical people that may or may not approve of you.
I have a couple of tattoos. I have french script on my shoulder that says (english) "the beautiful butterfly" which will be later followed by a large butterfly trailed by smaller ones in homage to my mother who is deceased. On the other shoulder I have the footprint from my sons birth certificate. We have a private artist that does our work and is amazing. I have a few more things on my list to get done. I believe the back is nothing more than a blank canvas.

I find too many tattoos unattractive. In the unlikely event I do get one (perhaps when drunk, that'd be the only situation I could see myself getting one, might also help numb the pain!) I'd only get a small, very meaningful one, in an area not usually visible. But I probably won't.

Any self respecting tattoo artist will refuse to tattoo anyone who is on any type of mood altering substances. In fact, my artists shop makes you sign a waver saying you are of sound mind and completely sober before you even sit down. If they suspect anything, they will decline.
In addition, alcohol is a blood thinner and will make you bleed out while getting tattoos. This makes the ink bleed out and will cause the tattoo to be distorted. It's a waste of time and money.
I find it interesting that when people are talking about tattoos, besides the people who just plain hate them, there are these other anti tattoo arguments. For instance, the ideas that they are stupid unless they have some deep, personal meaning and also that you'll regret them as you age. I have a pretty big one and I always think it's funny when someone asks me about what it represents, etc. as if I'm going to launch into some epic narrative. Just liking tattoos, what a crazy idea. Also, as I get older and uglier, why would I care about tattoos more? If anything, I will care even less what people think.

in my opinion, getting a tattoo is more an indication of a desire to be perceived by others in a certain way than not getting a tattoo.
As I have said, I have no tattoos but not because I dislike them. It's just not something that put any wind in my sails at a time in my life when I would have gotten one.
I had a favorite uncle who had tattoos. He also had a deep knife scar from a knife fight while in prison and he rode some of the most bone-shaking Harleys ever built through the 1950s and later. Now here was a fellow for whom tattoos were created. However, although I recall his tattoos, I better recall his artistry and skills at building things and mostly his vivid tales of riding big bikes throughout the Great Southwest. He was an interesting man who made me want to go see what he had seen. I just hope one of my many nephews or nieces love me, untattoed as I am, as much as I loved that old codger.
Perhaps I'm ugly, but I am definitely NOT boring. I play bluegrass music, fly planes, work on them for a living, travel all over the world and have some pretty awesome hobbies.
Bluegrass is fun but have you tried Cajun?
