I received a ring with a brown diamond and want to know what is your opinion of it. The brown diamond is similar in color to the link below.

An Unnamed 27.25-carat Fancy Dark Yellowish-Brown Pear-Shaped Diamond

Do you like this color diamond? Pretty and unique or ugly?

Not unique, quite common. Used to be they couldn't even sell them because of the color -- they were considered industrial grade. Now of course, they're being marketed as "fancy" color.

As far as jewelry goes, if you like it, what does it matter if it's unique or valuable? *shrug* Wear it and enjoy it if you like it.

They're now quite fashionable, "chocolate diamonds".

I love chocolate diamonds. I had never seen them until a couple months ago and then spotted an advert in Vogue with chocolate diamonds. Trying to talk the hubby into a square cut one but no go yet

Count me in, I actually considered talking to my now fiance about his thoughts on a yellow / canary / champagne colored diamond. Some of them have really brilliant colors and talk about different! I opted for the more traditional diamond though, my only difference is that mine is octagon shaped.

I LOVE the canary diamonds! The darker the diamond the more rare and expensive they are said to be. That seems to hold true with the Jewelers I've been to. If you like it, that's all that matters.

Regarding the picture:
The diamond itself I think is beautiful. Sadly I think the fussy mounting detracts from the beauty of the diamond.

Enjoy your beautiful chocolate diamond

I've never seen one such as a brown diamond. I think it's unique and it's one of a kind.
