I have all of my hair; however, I know some day it will thin out and go away. Any suggestions for having awesome hair in older adulthood? (I am man not woman)

Well, you will probably want to steer clear of the Donald Trump look. If you can avoid this, you will probably look pretty dang awesome no matter what. But the key is avoiding "the Donald"!!!

Pssst ... it's toupee!

For the most part, I think a receding hairline on a strong face is sexy---and no woman wants a man who spends more time and energy on his hair, than she does on hers!
It's really not something you can control. Genetics has ALOT to do with it! How was your Dad and Granddad's hair?

I have to challenge your original assumption - that your hair will thin as you age. Most men, yes, but not all. Look at pictures of Ronald Reagan. Did your mother's father go bald? The genetics are more complicated than just that, but he's your main influence.

What you *can* do, is get on (prescription) Propecia, and start using (now non-prescritption) Rogaine. Do both. Both are FDA approved and work for *most* men. It's generally accepted that both are more effective at preventing loss than at recovering loss.

Not FDA approved but a known DHT "antidote" is Nizoral shampoo, you can get it as a prescription 2% strength, or OTC at 1%. You use some sort of shampoo, might as well do this one.

That said, some guys do look good with a shaved head. I'm just not one of them.

The Nizoral will help with DHT, the guys who make Rogaine do (or at least did) market a shampoo specifically for people with thinning or just fine hair - I have used it but my hair is not that thin, mostly just have some loss in the temple areas and a little thinning at the apex (which is not apparent in daily life, but if I am looking for it with a comb I can find it.

The action is at the hair root, what's been proven to work is Rogaine and Propecia.

Propecia does require a trip to a dermatologist that your health plan probably won't cover, and it's not cheap. But like salmon fishing, it's worth whatever you have to pay.

I think the medical evidence is that Propecia is the #1 hair saver/restorer that you can get, as of today.
