do yall like these? (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2987472/0~2376778~2372808~6007659~6007688?mediumthumbnail= Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6007688&P=4 - broken link) and since they're ankle length, do you tuck your jeans inside or do you wear them out or can you do both?

i think i like them, but i don't know. guess i'll just have to try them on and see!

i'm really looking for something casual but not bulky. i hardly ever dress up, always in blue jeans and my clark wallabees or danskos but sometimes i feel frompy in those shoes and want something slightly more streamlined. do you have any suggestions as to what would fit the bill? i have the hardest time finding casual shoes. dressy boots and shoes are a cinch - they're all so cute! but casual, comfortable nice looking shoes are almost impossible for me!

thanks everyone!

Sorry--I really don't like the "fringe"--looks like you're trying to be an Indian, or hippy, or something! And PLEASE don't tuck pants into them!
There are some really nice, ankle high boots, in great leathers that aren't "fancy"--low-heeled and simple.
Look around somemore!!!!

haha, ok i hear ya. what about these?

Minnetonka Women's Kilty Suede Driving Moc - DSW

they both kind of have the indian thing going but these not as much. but we/ these what about socks?? why is it so difficult to find casual shoes??

i don't want a heel at all, rather would have a flat or something with a thick sole (like my wallabees and danskos) - show me some leather boots!! i have been looking for a while and so far no luck.

thanks for replying!

Those short boots could only be worn with a dress or skirt. A nice knitted knee length dress with colorful tights will pull the outfit together.

I don't like the 2nd shoe. Look like warm slippers.

i was thinking w/ the boots i could wear bootcut jeans and you'd never see the tassles. no? i don't think i could pull off the boot and skirt thing. i'm just trying to find a nice casual shoe/boot to go w/ my jeans - that i wear everyday! haha.

thanks for your advice!

i think something like these (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2989385/0~2376778~2372808~6007659~6007693?mediumthumbnail= Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6007693&P=1 - broken link) would be good - casual enough to wear w/ anything and not frompy - but they're too tall i think, but obviously they're too expensive for me to buy... so this is kind of what i'm looking for. my search continues.... why is this so hard?

I am not into the fringe look, but if you are going for fringe I would get the ones that go up a little higher on the leg. It looks like they have some that are knee high maybe a little lower than that, I can't tell but the higher the boot, the better IMO!

I have a pair of tall fringey boots that I got from Target that I was looking at yesterday trying to figure out what I'd wear them with. To be honest I'm not sure they're a very mainstream style and don't think I'll wear them that much. You should pick your shoes based on what's going to work best for you based on your height, comfort needs and clothes. If you are tall the shoes you picked out are OK.

thanks everyone for the advice. thanks for that site dreamweavin. i "like" it! catrinac, i see what you mean about the fringe. it's everywhere now so it seems to just be a somewhat trendy thing (that may last a few weeks, haha), but i'm not as much worried about that as i am making sure they're good looking w/ my blue jeans and comfortable. i'm not too trendy... haha. i've been wearing danskos and wallabees for years and i don't think those are very trendy.

i'll keep searching, but may go by dsw and try on the mocs and boots to see what i think. i think the minnetonkas may be too low for my jeans, as in my jeans may drag the ground. i'm short so i shouldn't go for flat shoes, but i hate walking in heels. i'm not as worried about the height of the shoes (ankle vs. knee) b/c i'll put my jeans over them and won't see them. maybe while i'm at dsw i'll find something i really love!

thanks again!
